on Wednesday, March 21st!

Without giving too much away, I’d like to alert any Gordon-affiliated followers out there to some big news! This Wednesday, my worlds will collide in the best way possible when my very own school partners with my non-profit at an athletic event, in order to benefit the children of a Boston-area hospital!

Needless to say, I’m stoked! This Wednesday we’ll tie dye more than 100 shirts, but even more than that, people at Gordon will start to hear about Hippies for Hope and what we’re doing in Tanzania, in local hospitals, and on the backs of everyone wearing one of our shirts.

Please spread the word, be in prayer, and send good vibes our way on Wednesday!

Met some amazing young women at Whitehall’s SWAT (Strong Women and Teens) group today! They listened to my sisters and I talk about overcoming obstacles such as disability and age in order to make the best of everything life brings… they also helped me tie dye for the annual Christmas Eve donation at Albany Med! Updates to come :)

Need a last minute Christmas gift? I’d love to hook you up with a beautiful tie-dyed shirt! $10, I’ll deliver or ship for free! :)

What a feeling it is to get back into the swing of something so normal that it feels like a part of your soul.

Tie dying has truly become a past-time for me, and missing out on it for the better part of 3 months was doing me no good at all! Alas, there are 200+ shirts in my garage, in my car, and in my basement ready and waiting to be written on, folded, dried and sold!

Hooray!

Save the date for the Peace Fair on September 25th, 2011 at the Presbyterian-New England Congregational Church in Saratoga Springs from 12noon-4PM. We’ll be there selling all the new stuff we made this weekend! :)

As always, shirts are available online via Facebook, email, or by phone!

Shirts can be ordered, as always, for $10 in any size. Email hippiesforhope@gmail.com or call me at 518-926-8485 for details!

Get ready, Get set, Serve!

See you there. :)

It’s been awhile since we’ve updated, but that doesn’t mean that nothing has been happening!

Even since being at college, we’ve been able to sell a few shirts and were granted a very generous donation that we signed over to SEGA for leadership development. Check out nurturingmindsinafrica.org for more information on the HUGE grant they received!

Please don’t hesitate to email and spread the word about the tshirts— they’re still going!

I’d like to make a big change and switch to entirely fairly traded t-shirts. We will see about this in the upcoming months. For right now, we’ll be selling what we have and starting from scratch with a slightly different business model! Stay tuned and pray for us!

Be blessed,

Ashlie Michelle

I’m missing the SEGA girls today. :( Had a great time at the Justice Talk this morning and the following Ministries Fair. I really feel like I can get involved here on campus.
I pray this: that humility, compassion, and discipline may grace my life this year.

Today: be thankful for the opportunity to SERVE. Serve those among you, below you, above you. Wash the feet of your disciples, love your neighbor, and, well, you get the picture.
